Parenting in the 21st Century is hard work!
Being a child in a busy world can be confusing and overwhelming.
Children and adults experience stress from societal pressures and life events, which often results in child behaviours which are difficult to manage, conflict in family relationships or problems at school.
The first step is to understand your child's emotional development and needs.
When we start to understand our child's distress or difficult behaviours we can begin taking steps to help, manage and repair.
The Solihull Approach was developed by child psychologists and is based on well established research on brain development. It is endorsed by the NHS. The approach aims to improve the emotional health and wellbeing of babies, toddlers, children, teenagers and their families.
The approach offers a variety of online learning and resources, for example: Understanding Child Development, Understanding your Child with Additional Needs or shorter taster courses on Children's Mental Health. There are specific courses for parents needing support with their own feelings and responses to their child's needs: Understanding your Relhttps://solihullapproachparenting.com/online-courses-for-parents/ationships and Understanding your Trauma.
I am a qualified Solihull parent coach and am able to provide you FREE access to these courses to complete at your own pace alongside Play Therapy or Video Interaction Guidance.
I can provide consultations if you would like any help putting your learning into practice.
Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) is a brief strengths-based practice that promotes positive change by developing interactions between parents and their children.
VIG can be provided alongside Solihull and Play Therapy, either in your own home or my private practice.
